Holy cow Whitaker is letting teams shift from London to Dubia at BGC et al - a nice sunny tax free place. Let's hope Lutnick's tariffs don't hurt his kids & Whitaker's strategy!
An institution built on the back of literally American blood sweat and tears and this Brit seems to think the UK/EMEA is where it should be run from. Lutnick's have picked a horrendous delusional and now political nightmare!
He is popular with UK people, seems he is comfortable moving rolls from US to UK; and allowing some UK middle level staff to move (at the same pay) to Paris and other southern sunny regions.
Mike Whitaker this old dog was in the market with the huge discounted price tag. No other banks wanted him. Seriously, which bank in the right mindset wants him to be a CIO of their org after all the sh-t he did including consent order?? To BGC, this guy could’ve been a good deal but what they don‘t know is how incompetent Whitaker is and will soon figure out.
