Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Engineering jobs at Boeing suck

  1. No respect
  2. Easily replaceable
  3. When you become a senior senior you will be laid off at the next downturn or recession
  4. No real engineering work anymore, everything is either integration or supplier management. Not challenging or fulfilling
  5. No job security to support a family

If you are considering a career in engineering at Boeing please carefully read these comments and don’t make the mistake I did.

Left Boeing for SpaceX years ago. No comparison. Refreshing to work with honest, intelligent and passionate people. Working at Boeing was like being a pledge in some mo--nic gangster fraternity. Amazed they are still in business.

When ever I've talked to new hire engineers they always say the same thing.
My job duties are either so basic, or nothing more than going from one stupid meeting to another.
