@6dqg+16iXzdgq he said in the video that he has had a numerous amount of people reach out and say they weren't in a position to take the VLO at the time it was offered but are regretful and wish to now ( i personally know of a lot of people who didn't take it in April but want to take it now) aka, people are seeing this place go down hill & want to take the money and run to get established with a new job elsewhere, in state or out. (or retire since things wont get better for a long time)

@6mpr+16iXzdgq VLOS are just the first step to ILOS. Its only been a few months since the last VLOS, if they did not take it then, why would they take it now unless they make it more enticing.

So basically, maybe another couple hundred take the VLOS, then comes wave after wave of ILOS. If they are transparent and give a new number (to date they haven't) I doubt the new VLOS will account for more than 3% of the additional layoffs.

Sorry, its going to get worse before it gets better.

@6sqs+16iXzdgq probably not.

They don't know the right thing to do, but they are the only ones who actually know what they are going to do.

I heard three rumors

  1. I heard a rumor Management spreads rumors just to get you all fired up to distract you from what is really going on
  1. I heard a rumor Some employees spread rumors to create hate and discontent and to watch the circus that ensues.
  1. I heard a rumor no one on this sight knows Jack sh– because they are not senior leadership.

Rumor left out important and actual facts.

It's a 90-day phased shutdown of the 787 Everett factory line, which is to be discontinued. The Boeing Company's long-term plan is to have only the BSC build the 787 since the 787-10 can only be assembled in South Carolina. The parked 787's built by Everett are following the same protocols for the parked and undelivered 737's.

We all know how up front Boeing is with their employees..so please be kind to one another.

The WARN Act provides a limited exception if the extension of a temporary furlough beyond six months is caused by unforeseeable business circumstances and notice is given when it becomes reasonably foreseeable the extension will be required. While the current circumstances related to COVID-19 appear to fall under this exception for most employers that choose to issue a WARN Act notice now, this does not mean that the current circumstances alone will be an “unforeseen” event several months from now. Rather, a new unforeseen event may need to be relied upon to excuse the 60-day notice requirement. Employers should seek legal guidance before attempting to invoke an exception under the WARN Act.

Additionally, employers should consider how they will handle PTO during a furlough. Depending on the state, a furlough may be considered a termination of employment triggering the payment of accrued PTO.

A careful evaluation of employment policies, benefit plans, and applicable state and federal laws is essential to identifying the impact of a layoff or furlough and making the right decision during this difficult time.
