Does Broadcom really care about owning a security business? I doubt it because if they did then why would they have sold veracode to Thoma Bravo for 950 million immediately in November 2018 after the CA deal closure . Only to acquire another security company Symantec after 6 months ? I’m tellin ya folks there is more to it than what meets the eye on this deal ! This old goose Interim CEO needs to be investigated for his role in all of this and why he attracted a chip making company that has no experience in software business. Take it from me there more to this. To unravel this puzzle one will have to wait and watch !

You're not factoring in the debt and liabilities - it wasn't a $300m profit.
Veracode was not loss making - picked up for 650$ million sold for 950$ million in 18 months. That’s a neat 50% profit
Either you don’t understand math or you have not gone through high school.. how can a company survive with a negative operating margin or negative 25 base points as per your observation. Was CA and the board at CA so dumb to buy such a company just one year prior to the Broadcom deal ? That too for 650$.. Broadcom sold it for 300 million profit
For every dollar veracode brought in, they spent 1.25. Let the VC right that ship.
