Rodney is like Trump in that he's OBVIOUSLY beholden to a very powerful person (or group of people - NOT stockholders) who is forcing his hand to make these obviously horrific business decisions. #RodneyMullens has destroyed Kroger and ALL of its subsidiaries by making the WORST financial decisions this side of the Atlantic AND Pacific!

The guy's a mo–n who doesn't have the respect of ANYONE in the company. All the Group VP's and managers all cower in the corner too afraid to upset the dumbest guy in the room (Trump/Mullens) that his decisions are k–ling profits. Good Lord, some subsidiaries are making hundreds of millions for Kroger and Mullens is only worried about Shipted. For real?

Dude, it's become quite obvious you are there to bring down the company and you are making a massive profit on behalf of your workers lives.

Mullens should be FIRED for incompetence. Who agrees?

"worked for them and now retired" - Yes. inexperienced and short term, cheaper to employ. Long probably losing more than you make. At some point to much labor cutting crashes a store/company.

Worked for them and am now retired thank God. Saw some really great managers recently let go and not because they were lacking. Matter of fact they were 30+ yr. guys who opened superstores, the best. And well paid which is what this is all about. The new managers are little kids in their 20's and don't have a clue. My old store was top notch and now looks like a toilet. Don't miss that company at all.

I work the self checkout and see theft and shrink happening left and right. But it's just me trying to help a dozen customers at once. For every one thing I catch there's probably 6 others that I don't. The system is poorly designed and not enough employees to watch over things. There's the problem - plain and simple!

It’s not rocket science. You sell groceries and peoples have to eat. No need to over engineer the process.

I might have to buy stock in this company. Over 500,000 employees and they let a few hundred of the underperforming leaders go, sounds like a pretty good business decision.

Are you aware of the another stupid decision that Smith's made this year? Ban Visa credit cards! Like profits were struggling, let's cut the Number 1 credit card from the formula. We lost over 2000 customers per week. What for? To prove a point?
Now you can't afford salaried managers! Bravo Kenny Kimball, shotting yourself in the foot with a shotgun.

• Stop accepting CASH, to cut 40 hours of bookkeeping.
• Shopping in the dark, save electricity

• Shop directly from the backroom, save of freight hours

Rodney, well you finally ruined King Soopers and City Market. Your ego and narcissism guide your ridiculous business decisions. Your flavor of the month programs have ruined operations.One by one your divisions will crash and you will still be in denial, believing that you make the best decision for the customers. Name brand products are discontinued weekly, forcing customers to shop at competition. Your decision to eliminate and demote long term store managers and assistants shows how truly little regard you have for the people who work for Kroger. The humiliation of Scheduling meetings at a hotel and eliminating jobs without any explanation or discussion is disgusting and appalling. I hope to see the day you are FIRED and told that your personal items in your office will be mailed to you.

Today is day three of layoffs in the Dallas area. I find it funny how management quits to go to another company then gets brought back and are safe from the cuts. To top it off there were two of them and they are brothers! How many A— you got to kiss to be able to do that!

The fact that the hourly associate is paid and treated poorly on top of hour and staff cuts scare all of us associated with the company.hope upper management figures out that they are the problem.

Looks like the Denver division(Colorado Springs district) is done putting people on the chopping block. They have cancelled all one on one meetings after yesterday's blood bath.(Drastic I know) Store management that are still around get to pick up the pieces of the mess created by Kroger.
Lost a lot of great leaders, very interesting how not everyone got a one on one. Morale is at an all-time low but business as usual. I hope the ones that have been saved start looking for a new job. Kroger just showed us we are all replaceable - with total disregard of our purpose and promise- feed the human spirit and uplifting in every way.There's some amazing companies that will treat you well and value you. Really sad that kroger can’t figure out what the real issue is in the business. All that needs to happen is best service and competitive price. Can’t achieve this wit no hours and help

Kroger doesn't care about their customers or their employees, never has, never will.

Are they giving severance packages?

How about the lead florist being demoted? Really! Half a million dollar deft now to be filled by produce clerks?! How’s that work?

Less employee's, hours ect... Customers stand in lines and can order on Amazon to doorsteps before they get to check out. Upper management is clueless to what customer service really is all about. You notice all the remodeling and prices are going up looks like by the remodeling that a possible ( clear throat ) all natural higher, higher prices are coming. That's what will keep the margins on paperwork and customers away. Keep raising prices and cutting hours, I should be uper uper manager.

And to think I was trying to get a job at Kroger! Glad they turned me down!

I've been with Texas Kroger for years..I've seen it all. They make these high school students supervisors so they don't have to pay them as much. I'm looking at the ppl complaining about being there several years then getting terminated. I really don't feel sorry for them. You been seen how they operate if you been with a company that long...and must be silly if you never thought it would happen to you. I'm not saying they deserve what happened...nobody does. To me...Kroger has never done anything right and nothing is written in stone with that company. You have to get approval to be a full time employee. DUMBEST thing ever...instead of being offered full time because of your potential. I've voiced my concerns with the surveys they make us do...and never saw change. I gave up. NOW I'm literally just there for a paycheck.

Kroger is sinking from very poor upper management ,stupid programs OSAT where did that go? Upper management got millions of dollars of raises but store level got ZERO. Who came up with that fantastic Idea of sending hundreds of shippers to all stores to "build sales" guess what happened there ? 25 cent pepperoni or foil trays anyone? They we ALL sold well below cost losing millions of dollars!! Produce buyers should have to eat some of the c-ap they send to the stores "because you cant shrink it out at the warehouse" send that moldy garbage to the stores to throw away. Old meat in the warehouses split it out sell at a great loss or throw out. But guess what they figured that the problems are in the stores LOL better cut labor there to build moral and sales Brilliant!!! Kroger stock is tanking?? wonder why?

I put 13 years into Kroger, I felt the life being s—ed out of me....my kids had no mother on the holidays! I was working til 1am and back in at 7am, then had a sit down with a higher up (Sandra) who told me, Kroger was her retirement and she’d be damned if I was gonna mess that up for her! Because if I didn’t perform, it fell back on her! I was happy to say F-U, I drank the koolaid for too long, 13 years!! I happily have an amazing job now M-F 9-5 and love going into Kroger as a customer now watching the poor souls who mope around hating their lives! Give it up!! Vacation time and seniority aren’t worth your happiness!

Too many generals and not enough soldiers. Division office is bloated.

This company is doing all of this to try and compete with Amazon - it’s failed already. And in the meantime, has lost many managers in attempt to achieve such a goal. F@$K kroger and it’s corporate fatheads. This is only going to give it a black eye. The company truly expected this to be quiet? I will never step foot into another Kroger store. You guys S— and should be ashamed of what you have done.

Makes me not want to shop at Kroger. Keep building stores but people losing their jobs. Dirty work.

When is there going to be cuts in GO. Why don’t they cut things like Vice Presidents. Why don’t they have one of them to do both merchandising and operations. That would save a ton.

I work in the Louisville Division and it is a horrible place to work. Morale is at an all time low. The Ann Reed And Wendy McCarty show have drained the life out of our once proud Division. I feel sorry for the s—ers that will have to clean up there freaking mess.

When is Kroger going to realize that the Kroger GO Offices need to be realigned...if Kroger is trying to restructure to create a closer connection to the customer...why start cutting associates out of the stores...better yet, why not restructure all the folks out of the Kroger GO Office who roll-out initiatives that are non-realistic. We sell bananas, milk and bread, why make it so fcking hard?? Most of those corporate flakes have never clocked into a store or better yet not put on an apron or hairnet and work their butts off with no hours and no training. Think about this Rodney, how you run your company is a** backwards. Let’s start from the bottom and hope that will get you a larger bonus this year and keep you from the board of directors firing your a. You can continue to live in a corporate bubble with all you Kroger buddies who kiss your a everyday.

I am a wife of a manager. I have also worked at kroger myself a little while ago. I had never been in such a depressing atmosphere in my life. Everyday I'd pray for the grace of God just to endure the day. Workers that are 50 look like they are 70 from exhaustion and years of hard labor. I can't tell you the last time my husband has had a holiday home with us. He is called in for every kind of grocery "emergency" on his days off. It almost ruined our marriage. Moral at Kroger is so low, not even those that hate their jobs think they are good enough to be hired elsewhere (from years of verbal abuse from upper management), so they stay year after year in hopelessness. I hope everyone keeps their heads held high and knows your worth is not in Kroger or their judgements on you. This company is a ticking timebomb and their neglect, unfair treatment, and greediness will have major consequences. You were never going to be able to jump through all those hoops they set up for you... it was a hampster wheel of a race. God loves you and has better.

Too bad that corporate is not cutting back all the fools that work at Kroger general offices. The mo–ns that create useless programs that only decease productivity at store level.
The programs that having everyone walking around with multiple clipboards and wondering why nothing is getting done. And computer programs that have no idea how a specific store needs to place the right labor at the right time. But artificial intelligence tells you to schedule your store this way. Then to create phony uplift stories to boost employee moral when everyone is getting slammed because nothing is getting done.
And to push O.S.A.T scores up and threaten mangers with dismal.So the end result is employees are forced to fill out fake surveys themselves to keep the manager and store out of trouble.
Meanwhile, everyone smile and provide superior customer service. With cutting more and more hours so we can’t get the job done.
Then we all run around like a chicken with his head cutoff because either the district manger is on his way or we have a executive visit planned. And Kroger can’t figure out what is going wrong! Solution: lay workers off and terminate long term employed, reduce more labor and watch the company spiral downward.

I find it amazing how GO has not been impacted (or even mentioned here yet). They are the root of all of failed programs (and the decline in sales) the last 4 years. Poor planning, buying, decision making and promotions. They lack work ethic, business acumen, retail knowledge and experience.
This is what happens when we decide to make Ohio our Hub. Very limited high performing individuals that would want to move there.
And then there are the “process and improvement” team. Traveling around the country costing us nearly $10,000 EACH in expenses alone each period and showing little to no results in return. Clean that house too and give the power back to the divisions to do their own buying and sourcing and we may have a shot at this

What a shame Smith's, getting managers into hotels, making us sign non-disclosure. We are not criminals, we just want to do a job. I'm so embarrassed for this company

I was a department head with 32 years experience and was ran out by a co manager who continued to harass me. Glad I'm gone from Kroger.
