Once the holidays are done and sales drop there is no way the current labor targets can support the current staff sizes and FT/PT ratios. Either people have to go or labor percentages need to rise. What seems more likely? I'd say if you are a long time supervisor or ATL start refreshing your resume.

They should layoff anyone who fails a drug test. They can start with the FL region. Management first.
What a load. Haven't seen our STL in months, only shows up now to act like he gives a Sh--t, because it's all hitting the fan. It's amazing to me that they even bother. Why even pretend after all these years? #wholefoodsmarket
Anonymous | Post ID: @EYqMxSU-2iqd You are correct! And perhaps there should be no bonuses for STL and others. My store is so successful my STL is rolling in money. Holiday "ready" means having bodies there to help customers not hanging snowflakes and more of those ugly yellow and red signs. WFM has lost it's charm and appeal. Acronyms.....who cares? HO HO HO
"Penny wise Pound foolish" Maybe that should be their motto they sure have lived it.
Cutting actual bodies before the holidays means fewer to do the actual work less work done and WF will either bleed the loss of sales or gain very little. Should of started with the higher ups and worked their way down there's a hell of a lot more FAT at the top of WF's structure.
Also, how about cutting out the VPS and whoever, whatever, their stupid acronyms are coming in right before the holidays when we are already short staffed! We have to move stuff around then move it again put fluff on that doesn't need to be there for them it's not about them it's about our CUSTOMERS we waste our labor on their lame asses when we should be focusing more on selling and getting our items on the damn floor.
Technology is your friend if only you could use it WF make your damn store team leader walk the store record it and you as a corporate poo ba should have a map of all the stores anyway stop wasting our time and the companies money on flying around everywhere.
Hell you want everything to look the same BORING just like any other grocery store we are not the unique stores we use to be a bunch of dumb asses have done everything in their power to screw up a good thing.
Our store is comping.
We're comping negative double digits. This holiday season is a complete bust. No way we can afford to not lay off more people, or start closing down stores.
The company "can't afford more bad press"? LOL! The company hasn't got bad press -- it has bad management. Labor expenditures are only out of whack because this firm is a disorganized, ineffecient hot mess with layer after layer of incompetent overpaid regional and global dumbasses all pulling in different directions. Now they're probably paying consultants tens of $millions to tell them what they should have done in the first place. A consultant is someone who can't fix the problems but knows there's a pot of gold to be made by prolonging them. I agree, the entitled whiners at Global and Regional need to get to work. Perhaps Omar can go back to dishwashing.
The only lay offs that are going to happen are seasonal tms. Whole foods cannot afford any more bad press. After that, those who cannot realign themselves to the new business model will find the door, themselves. So suck it up entitled whiners and get to work.
So either you're over staffed or your pt ratio to full time isn't where it needs to be. Labor targets always drop going into the holidays because sales make up for it. Sit down and do the math. Please stop speculating and fear mongering when you clearly have no idea as to what you're talking about. This has been addressed in previous posts. It's nothing new.
STLs have been told to expect the loss of team members through attrition. All of this loss is expected. We've been told that we need essentially have to do more with less
I agree. There is NO way we can keep our staff at their hours once the holiday push is over. There may no be official lay offs but we will have to cut hours so much that people will eventually quit. I'm sure they are aware of this at global. "The problem will take care if itself."
