Thread regarding West Corp. layoffs

An excessive number of laid off people will backfire

But the problem remains - limited staff due to layoffs prevent existing and newly purchased customers from acquisition from receiving quality or even sub standard service. You can buy all you want, but unless you are focused on delivering customer service, your clients are leaving, as they have with the last few platforms. ////

//// That’s it, I totally agree with whoever wrote this in the thread below. I don’t know if their calculations of how many employees to dismiss were good, because the lack of people will end up costing them more than whatever they saved by laying them off. Just my two cents.

The brain drain at West occurred years ago, when One West was instituted and WIC took over WNG. The resulting purge of the high level technical resources at the various BUs was the death blow to West. A company the size of West can't lose that kind of talent and survive as a competitive company. These resources were the true SMEs for the various BUs. It has just been a long slow death afterwards, with mistake after mistake from the inept leadership that stayed behind. Everything occurring now is just the result of those poor decisions by execs who were on their out anyway.
