Updates on the FT/PT ratio

Could anyone give details about this ratio changing? It was 70/30 for awhile then 65/35. Is this still the ratio? My tl says yes it's still the ratio this won't change, but I don't believe them. Plus so many FTers are leaving or getting targeted I'm thinking this ratio has changed.

@FIPXw6G-1xsk So true. The harder you work, the less they respect you. May they burn in flames. #wholefoodsmarket

I know, right? SHARED FATE is a joke. It's more like Soylent Green. Shared fate is another one of these Orwellian expressions with absolutely no basis in reality, unless that reality consists of pure propaganda and lies. Watch what they do, not what they say. Doubling down on the same failed leadership and borrowing a billion dollars to juice the stock price (which never works in the long run) then using those shares as currency to hand out to failed executives? That's not shared fate! It's highway robbery of the corporate treasury and an insult to team members and shareholders alike. These people are like the occasional ship captains who abandon a sinking ship and take off in the life rafts. Wake the f...k up.

I haven't heard any news but it's obvious if anyone looks around... we have lost 6 people on my team (produce and all ft) and have hired 2 people at pt, since december. Other teams are doing the same, shedding the ft members not hiring for a loooong time then hiring just a few pt to replace them. I am looking for something else but this city is really small.

So amazing how the TL's & ASTL 's trying for us to feel so sorry for them. You are also to blame for what going on in WFM. All of you are major shit-eaters especially the ones in the NE area. All of you spend your days looking at camera, gossiping and kissing up to regional. Your days are numbers, you think WFM care about you. LOL Keep drinking the Kool Aid you bunch of shit eaters.

It certainly seems like they want less full timers. In our region we are switching to Kronos. FT must have open availability, you can't ask for any specific schedule at all. Not even a I need Wednesday afternoons off to pick up my kids. Not even guaranteed two day off together anymore. Only PT is allowed to request specific availability.

I've seen so many honest and hard working people get passed over for promotions because of the rampant favoritism and shitty politics in this company. On the other hand, shitty workers are constantly handed promotions and free passes simply because they're buddies with management. I can't wait to quit as soon as I find another job.

another TL here, it officially 70/30. i think every store is different with what the STL wants the TL to do, however generally if your within this ratio it ok to post for FT. really up to your STL if they big on FT or not

Transparency has been all but lost at my store. NO ONE feels safe going to mismanagement about anything, so the problem stagnates or becomes worse. But I have seen with my own eyes people getting in lots of trouble when they bring up issues that can be fixed, usually by firing someone in management.

We are not hiring any FT peeps. We just were given the green light to hire a few PT peeps, but only because if we didn't the store wouldn't have anything on the shelves and customers would come into a graveyard. My question is Does anyone know how long this sham is going to continue?

They used to say they wanted 65/35 with the 65 being full time back in like 2007..now its reversed..lol..and whenever a ft person leaves they try to get away with only hiring one pt..i pulled up some gainsharing reports from years ago to show my current tl how the configuration has changed in just the last 4 years at my store..his eyes bulged...he knew but couldnt speak to what was the issue..transparency and open dialogue are difficult when communicating certain subjects

Yes, I firmly believe WFM is targeting FT people. When i got laid off, it was because they thought my buyer position should have been PT instead. I was told this by leadership that was the main reason. Which of course translates to: we don't want to give you a higher pay and any benefits. I got the sense right away, that's why I chose a buy out, and never looked back. Never mind all the daily tasks I did prior into stepping into the buying position. So here I was, doing the job of two people for a year - management truly has no clue what good employees do on a daily basis. I was a good employee, and I kept to myself. But it's a company that does NOT value real workmanship and real workers. Perhaps if you are a huge suck-up and a lazy worker ( the sucking up will save you) as I saw employees getting a free pass, all the time doing this. The environment and culture is a complete joke. I'm very happy it came to be - I've found a better place, and wished I saw the facade much earlier. And because of the way I saw all the abuse of employees overtime as well, I've chose never to support them again.

Whole foods wants less full time than part time team members. It is obvious in the way they want to bounce people, or drop, people. Especially full timers, the company is f---eddd! sad joke for those still left behind.

TL here. No one has given us an official ratio, but we were all told at my store that we won't ever be hiring full time. When we lose a full timer we usually replace them with a pt person who's been trying to get ft. We have been pressured into hiring more pt employees when we lose a full timer though. There is nothing official about this at my store, but I think the fact is whole foods is now being cheap as f*ck and doesn't want to dish out benefits.
