So the next wave of changes have started. You know the new fancy scheduling program kronos we have been asked to advertise for months now? Well little did we know that it would be replacing the HR Admins. We have been praising Cabela's for months for finally updating the scheduling software. Now we are wishing we had never heard of it. I'm sure the managers that can't seem to get a schedule in on time to save their lives are going to be happy to know that they will now be taking over our jobs. Maybe they will realize all we have been doing to make their jobs easier.

Hahaha!
Ham admin a waste!
Awful personality and gossip
I personally think the HR department is wonderful and am sad to see the admin go. Unfortunately, with technology, it generally means efficiency gains that require less manual work and less personnel to support the function.
HR people have always been worthless sycophants including CB the lead dog. They shamelessly follow whatever ruthless path they are directed to follow, only concerned about their own skin. The blood of many good people is on their hands.
cabelas used to be fun to work for when i started, its no longer this way with all the bureaucratic bs that is going on now, more and more layoffs and expect the outfitters to pickup the slack. they wonder why they have a high turnover rate when you pay qualified and knowledgeable people 8-12 dollars an hour to do 6 different positions at the same time on top of a nightmare schedule. o and dont get me started on club cards.
What comes aroumd indeed. Must work at the same store. #useless #unfriendly #humanresourcedept
Well I can tell you most everyone in 'our' store can't stand dealing with human resources. It's no secret how lazy they are. In the future I see Human Resources being a thing of the past. With technology and all.
I have found the human resource department to be very polite and make a effort to be most helpful. I will say this I have seen very little information of what is in the bass pro merger agreement in regard to the employees. Have any one seen the agreement being voted on?
HR never gave two s**** about associates / Outfitters problems. They all looked at us like we're a bunch of scum. Sticking their nose up in the air the minute you walked in the office. They would look at you like 'what the hell do you want?" I absolutely couldn't stand HR, and having to deal with those jerks in our store. If companies were smart they would let the employees do everything online.
Good I always thought HR was a big waste of space. I can remember a few of these human resource people laughing and giggling when people got laid off. No less right in front of their faces. Karma is a b****. As the group Journey says: Now it's your turn now to cry. NA NA NA NA NA NA! NA NA NA NA NA!!!! What comes around goes around folks!
The tasks of the admin does not take 40 hours. Ordering supplies? Orientation? Come on it's not like Cabelas is in a hiring frenzy. Admin doing interviews? That should lead to some legal action from candidates.
Maybe those tasks come to 40 hours cause of the yacking going on constantly.
Keep trying to justify the position, bye bye,
Wow if you think that all a HR admins does is work on the schedule you are very wrong. Maybe at your store but not ours. Ours does interviews, orders supplies, deals with outfitter problems, keys all of our time off and swap forms, leads orientation, helps with training, plans store events and much more. Don't group all of them in the same bucket. Maybe you just have a lazy one.
Dream on! I can remember when managers / leads would jump on registers and help out the cashiers - NOT NO MORE, H_ _ l, you can't even find a Sr Mgr on the floor let alone try finding a "Sales Coach" or whatever they want to call them this month.
Making a schedule sure doesn't take 40 hours a week. It's about time that job is eliminated. They should also eliminate our part time HR who comes in whenever she feels like it. Never does a 40 hour work week.
S--- it up like the rest of us. Put the admin in a cashier position on nights and weekends like the rest of us!
What'd you think would happen?
Terrible. When are these jobs being eliminated and how many lost?
The Tommy saga continues- destroy so those at the top can have a few more crumbs - never will anyone in our family shop at cabelas again
