Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

What are the statistics on past car sales when wars have broken out in history?

Will article 40 a war declaration in Middle East effect car sales or layoffs? Anyone have the numbers or patterns from way back? Good to incorporate into future planning and job security possibilities.

There's nothing being hidden or kept from you as long as you don't limit yourself to right wing media.

You can find out everything you want about the attacks on Ukraine and Israel.

As far as the te------t attack last Saturday, it was likely planned with the help of Iran, but there's no definitive proof yet. And that's been reported in the media.

And no, the US is not going to prevent you from buying a car. This is not WWII.

Thats a good answer all par. Now we may be able to put together a set up picture of war, timing of strike events and others. Delaying of car sales WW11 interesting. Whole thing fishy.

Here’s your answer: during wwii, the government restricted the sale of cars, including cars that were already made:

There’s a lot that we aren’t able to question.
There’s a lot we aren’t being told.
There’s a lot people aren’t paying attention to.
The biggest financial bubble in history is about to pop and there are multiple geopolitical issues hitting us at once.

Gosh, geewhiz will people still buy new cars they can’t afford at high interest rates and at longer terms?

Funny how war info is hidden from us about Ukr-ine but its open doors on war that is going on today in middle east, plenty of pictures, plenty of videos. Hope we are not being fooled or pushed into something with a political foundation. Regardless, set up or not, the outcome could cause more frugal awareness of purchases especially if this all expands into other countries.

The real war happens if we go to war with Iran or when C invades T. Among the millions crossing the southern border illegally are sleeper cells who are one cell phone call away from being activated. New cars will be the very, very last of people’s concerns when this happens.

We're giving we-pons to the good guys who were attacked by savages, but we're not at war.

This isn't WWII and there won't be rationing of meat and butter.

People have short memories.

"Bad events" may affect their choices for a little while, but people always go back to doing what they "usually" do.

History shows during war times citizens were required to give up metals they owned for war effort. Pictures of piles of any kind of steel or metals in streets waiting for pickup. Ads said even pots and pans accepted. So basically the focus was most all steel and metals first go to building tanks,planes,am-o,etc. Would vehicle manufacturers likely be retooled for this in war times? Appears possible so, either way there could be plenty of work.

Hard beginning stats to dig out and find. Model T, great depression and wars. Old newspaper clippings saved on microfiche not transferred well . Still digging. Would be interesting since history always repeats itself and preparedness matters. Very sad to hear of problems in middle east. Praying for peace over there and for all .

Maybe a delay in purchase to see how things go. But then u only live once so might as well buy what makes one happy, like a new car.

New car buyers remorse might come into play. Jitters maybe about going into debt at a risky time.
