Vmware (certain BUs) is now a leading company in workplace toxicity and hostility. It is by far among the top companies in the silicon valley in hiring toxic inadequate first line managers. Of course some BUs (SEBU is the leader) are excelling more than others in the toxicity and failed management.
The several failed acquisitions also contributed to this failed culture.
Amongst R&D Business Groups, SEBU is the first. Over 53% of employees left SEBU since July 2021. Only 24% of the positions were filled (with less qualified employees and of course we all know, a certain ethnicity that matches the GM's).
At EUC, over 46% of employees left since July 2021 with only 15% of the positions filled. It is become almost impossible to hire or retain talent (other than certain ethnicity of course that also matches EUC's GM ethnicity).
The third place is SBU (Carbon Black) with over 39% left since July 2021 and with only 16% of the positioned filled.
Vmware legal has gotten into several (over 55 documented cases since July 2021) small legal battles of that ended up with immediate resolutions (ad-hoc raises, ad-hoc promotions, ad-hoc internal transfers within vmware).
The ignorance of the management and lack of the basic work ethics keeps dragging vmware down to the sewage.
I am a current Director (or above at HR).
