Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Has the process of job postings changed everywhere?

For as long as I can remember, positions were posted for a limited time and applicants would all apply and interview in a panel setting. It seems now (at least in my region) store leadership picks who they want and opens the post long enough for their pick to apply, and then pulls the listing, before anyone else knows the position was posted. It happens all the time..anywhere else?

The employee hiring board is the number one tool of discrimination of the back door union mob. It is also why we end up with homogeneous teams full of "friends". These types of team are dysfunctional and pray on those with a high work ethic who end up carrying the dead weight. They become the targets of human paraquats who have taken the inside track while not earning their promotions.

C'mon it's like the wild Wild West in the stores. Some do it by the book and others burn the book.

Hey @MrRvJi7-1ukd, people are free to ask whatever questions they like. Seems like someone struck a nerve with you though. Good luck with your prosperous career at the food hole.

What? Are both of you below just plain #%#%? Instead of posting questions here why don't you ask questions in your store? We have over 450 stores in 3 countries and this is really not the place for these kinds of questions. You have umpteen ATLs, TLs, supervisors, etc to ask, and of course your ASTLs and STL to ask, you have your PBS/TMSG to ask, any visiting regional peeps to ask...there are a lot of ways to find out how things work where you are. And be aware it is not the same in every store or in every region. How they do it in my store may be totally different from your store. Global and regional give guidelines but store leaders have a lot of freedom to do things their way in their stores. If your store doesn't allow all to apply then maybe they are d---s, or maybe you are the one with a problem? Are you a marginal TM? And in my region all jobs are posted on the Workday career site.

In my store jobs are posted for 2 weeks. In store TMs have first dibs, other store TMs have second dibs, non WFM people are last in line. Panel interviews are only for supervisor/buyer level jobs and above. If we have enough qualified TMs applying then outsiders aren't considered. The hiring TL always has tremendous latitude in who to interview and who to hire. If you have shown through your previous behavior and/or job performance and/or corrective action history that you are not serious about moving up and doing a really good job, then why in the world would we give you a promotion? If that describes You then you should probably quit complaining and go get a job somewhere else.

Supposedly my store was hiring a grocery atl, but I check workday everyday and never saw it. Unless there's a difference between workday and the corporate site.
