Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

HPE in the UK is a total train wreck

I work for HPE in the UK where, quite frankly the business is in total disarray. The management have no clue in how to galvanize, focus or drive for results -they are more interested in saving their own backsides with review after review of numbers delivery without ever speaking to a customer.

From Palo Alto we get acquisition after acquisition foisted upon us having paid way over the odds for mediocre assets and people which the management kill all sense of what made them reasonably successful in the first place. Nice job!

There is a witch hunt mentality where certain people, normally good solid performers are released at the whim of a mediocre middle line manager deciding they don’t like the look of their face or need someone to blame for (their) poor unit performance. The cry is “do more with less” – the reality is do more with less until we WFR you as part of the next headcount-haircut coming to a location near you.

HPE are the laughing stock of the enterprise/SMB IT industry and our partners now generally neither trust – not respect us - and I for one have started looking for a job with a stable, energised business who actually cares about its people and realise that people drive success - not some idiot who can hardly drive a spreadsheet beating the cr*p out of us because we could not close a deal three months before the customer said an order will be placed.

Q4 is already looking like a disaster and with WFRs of 20% being rumoured I no longer care about the company and am spending more time on job seeking than doing my job.

RIP HPE and all those so called "managers" who will likely never get another job because their incompetence will be easily found out in a half descent interview that they were the cause, not a casualty of their own ineptitude.

The EMEA HQ will pretty much cease to exist; significant rationalisation in enterprise and SMB almost entirely dismantled due to the insane business model and weak leadership which makes products too expensive due to unaffordable overhead vs. the likes of Dell who are just ripping share directly from us even when we discount to below cost.

Not rocket science that good people are opting out by pink-slipping themselves to a better life without a WFR package.

Ah - the drums beat with rumors of HPE pulling out direct sales in countries that are not on the list of the 20% of countries that contribute 80% ofglobal revenue sales.

Figure they will just expect the partners to pick up the slack - it all looked so good in the excel chart before reality took its ugly grip on the situation.

Located in HPE (UK Site)

Morale at an all time low and people are leaving (good workers) due to the uncertainty of if they will have a job in a few months. After the employee meeting with Meg (don't get me started) this HPE Next cost reduction to make our results look better will likely stat a cull of more employees or even entire sites.

Also a rumour circulating that they are looking to reduce the workforce by another 30%. No dates or time frames. But the last time there was a WFR rumour it followed through. Also if management are not coming out and reassuring employees surely we have enough common sense to know that means the end result is not going to be good.

Fcuk your sh--ty severance pay HPE, you clearly need it more than I do.

Insight? HP management? thats a bit like saying they have integrity and deep capability .... They are more interested in offsite bed hopping with each other vs. than anyone who does any real work.. one way to keep the new 'HPE Way' at the center of everything they do I guess..

I and others left some time ago for a competitor (the lack of insight as to the value of my team was pathetic and downright ignorant), and we are out right destroying them in the market, Move on.

wait for the WFR or tell them where to go and get your life back.. depends on length of service I guess.. I am not in long enough to care so I am opting out with my heart, not my head.. good luck to those that have to tough it out... and long may the $'s be there for those hanging on in there that HPE will screw over.

I am praying for my WFR. Eventually I will cut the cord myself, but the severance would be a nice perk.

shh......if management gets wind of the fact that employees actually like wfr, they may stop that privilege too, and start letting people go with no severance money.

After 32+ years, my WFR was the perfect retirement gift. Glad to be out from under the cloud of fear and uncertainty. I am now consulting with multiple clients, and I am doing the things that I enjoyed doing at HP/HPE.

The best thing that happened to me was a WFR.

Couldn't agree more, I'm a 10 year veteran and I have never seen it this bad, ever. Senior management across the globe are completely detached from the workforce and reality. I really hope I get WFR'd so at least they can pay me something decent for the underplayed, slave labour I've put in over the past decade trying to build something that has been systematically destroyed.

What can I say to the original post and the first comment? Absolutely a perfect summary. It's worldwide. After my 35+ years, my WFR was the perfect gift. Time to leave. Good Luck to All!

As an 30yr. exHP'r looking on from the outside, HP(E) has lost total confidence with long standing customers, were talking 15-20+ yrs. business relationships. HP(E) has transitioned from a technology suppier of "choice" to not even making the short list on new projects where I now work.

Why invest millions in technology products from a company that is circling the toilet bowl.
