I've been hearing some rumors, but I'm still hoping it's not true and it's just scared people baselessly speculating.

Are you still hoping "it's scared people speculating"??? Finance has announced layoffs the week of Oct 27. Looks like this won't stop till 2030.
Layoffs are happening, quietly, here and there. I've seen a few people being let go just during the summer months. They will continue happening until 2030. You either find another job or make peace with the possibility of being laid off and collecting severance check. That's Cargill now days, pretty toxic!
No layoffs in my department since last fall, but since bonuses went out 4 people have left for other jobs. Most years it's zero or maybe one person.
CFO said exactly that in one of the follow up videos to July’s town hall.
Don’t care more about Cargill than they care about you.
But who is left to target?
DT&D targeted layoffs in October. Not sure how many.
Also, anyone with a "remote" designation might as well start looking. HR will not be giving any promotions or even reassignments to remote workers. You need to be in one of the "hubs." They want remotes to leave. If enough don't self-select you can guess what they will do next.
I was let go some time ago. Looking back, I'm actually grateful—I'm happy I'm no longer working for Cargill. If you believe in your skill set, losing a job isn’t the end of the world. However, if you believe you can't find a decent job after leaving Cargill, that mindset might be part of the reason they let you go in the first place.
Ran into a former fellow Cargill employee; got laid off in May. Replaced by very junior people in same roles where he and his colleagues where let go.
No more big layoffs but smaller actions specially as enterprises are merged. If you are still in make sure your external network is warm and start working it.
Not a rumor, there will be layoffs just not one big event like last year.
Budgets are a mess, and we've already spent too much in the first two months on wages.
People who quit are not being replaced, contractors are being let go, etc.
No RIF on the horizon, but the cull WILL continue until morale improves!!
I'm seeing forced attriction and few events of direct firing. Quite sure they have relocation/back to the office targets.
