Just picked up my new Turbo S yesterday afternoon and I'm having a blast driving it. The power on this thing is just incredible, especially coming from the Acura MDX, which literally feels like a bathtub on wheels...will be getting rid of it soon...thanks QCOM for the generous RSU grants!!!

@Anonymous106888, the first thing you thought of is a guy shoving something in his butt? Paging Dr. Freud!
@106856 – Have you ever thought about this situation and what you have done? A mini-van says soccer mom with kids. Most men stay away. A nice Mercedes (AMG I presumed) says rich house wife that wants a boy toy.

I bought my wife an expensive car. It was my decision and a payback for all sacrifices she's done for the family. I work 60+ hr weeks, it's been like this since we married 18 years ago. 4 kids and a large household are her responsibility, I was lucky and with some skill I did financially fairly well (against all odds). She's humble and a modest van would do it for her, yet I made a conscious decision to take care of her as a simple thank you for all she's put up with over the decades. It's as simple as that, we were able to do it, we took care of our basic finances and retirement plans, kids will be taken care off, we do quite bit of charity as well - so, when I did the math it simply made sense. I do not want to sound pretensions but wanted to give you my 2 cents on the issue.
Grumpy? Its well known males overcompensate with horsepower. They just won't admit it. Personally I drive a small car and carry a "big stick"
These women dont need extenders since they all know how to make things "extend" to get what they want.
Women may not need a penis extender, but can some explain a high number of women driving S-class AMG that cost around $200k. I doubt that they picked the car for its performance or extension value.
What kind of prick does it take to gloat about buying an expensive SUV and brag about on this board? The OP is a fine example of one.
OP - Are you a female? The grumpy guy is assuming you are a male but it would be more funny if you were not.
When is the queer party?
106579 , please find another post more suitable for your homophibic comments and vulgar language. You have no audience here.
Are you taking it to Black's beach to throw a homo tail gate party?
106474, please don't offend my buddy @Porshe&BMW_junkie. We all are lucky to have a real car connoisseur with us in thelayoff
Cayenne is still one of the few SUVs that will run circles around most standard sedans. It's also one of the few SUVs that you can maneuver out of an emergency situation better than a normal sedan, as opposed to crashing, which is what a Honda CR-V, Honda Pilot, Toyota RAV4, Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, etc., would all do in the same situation. Plenty of reasons to buy a Cayenne if you want an SUV but don't want something that handles like crap.
Is the op very old n weak guy
usually saw old people driving Porsche
Come on guys... You guys can make better layoff jokes you know. Even in this thread.. I'l start...Note to self: (step 1) go to Q parking lot and find a brand new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and remember it's license plate. (step 2) wait a few months. (step 3) wait for Q layoffs (step 4) buy Cayenne Turbo S at a firesale price when said "owner" can't make the lease/loan payments. (step 5) laugh all the way to the bank. :)
..Oh, and everyone ends up going through a mid-life crisis. Some of us just go through it much earlier than others, but we get over it also much sooner :)
The 911 is for track attack time, and some of the 911's actually appreciate in value. Most air cooled 911's are worth considerably more these days then what one would have paid about a decade ago. The Cayenne I'm not sure what it's for. Ferrari's also do pretty well in resale value, except that is sort of out of my league, for now.
so the Cayenne is for mid-life crisis engineering males who want to hoodwink a younger girlfriend to be stepmom to the kids? And the 911 is for mid-life crisis engineering males who have small packages "under the hood" to overcompensate buy buying a shiny bavarian metaphor? ok got it.
Actually, Porsche's are pretty reliable, well at least the 911's and to a lesser extent the Caymen's. The Caymen's only issue is being mid engine is slightly more work to maintain. Short of an oil change and basic maintenance, it would requiring dropping the engine. Don't know too much about they Cayenne... Wouldn't be caught dead in one.
WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THIS??? This is so disappointing to hear. YOU BOUGHT THE WRONG PORSCHE!!!!!Why on earth did you buy a Porsche SUV? A Cayenne is not a real Porsche. Sorry.. Can't track it, can't race it, can't go around the corner with it. The best thing you can do is go 0-60 with it to the grocery store to smoke some other soccer mom in an Escalade. Whoohoo! You did exactly what a bunch of asian ladies who can't drive do? Buy something by brand and brand alone without understanding the why you're doing it. Now, if you had taken that money and plopped that into a 911 Turbo and kept the MDX for hauling stuff, that would have been rocking, because that's what most of us do. That Porsche would have brought years/decades of grin on the street, on the track, and around the corners...And because that MDX isn't ever going to die, and maintenance on it is so cheap, that would have been great for hauling. But really. A Cayenne Turbo? Not to mention the resale on the Cayenne's aren't nearly as good on the 911 and no one is really collecting Cayenne's to the extent that the 911 has a cult. That Cayenne will be about 55% what you paid in about 4 years..Look it up Compare that to a comparable 911. You won't find a 911 falling 45% in 4 years...And you don't really want to drive it into the ground either, because it's $$$$ to maintain that turbo in an SUV!!!! Sigh. Next time, please consult some of us before you make these big purchases... You keep a beater/reliable SUV. You get a weekend Porsche....A real Porsche.... And if you don't have space to keep both, then you got bigger issues to worry about...Like a bigger house. But then again thank you for doing that. Porsche sells these SUV's because they have such a fat margin on them, since they require considerably less R&D engineering to develop (since it's just an SUV), that all that extra profit finds its way back into R&D into their 911 and Caymen/Boxster line, which have less margins due to all that R&D.
Apparently 106457 cared enough to respond. Unlike the acura, the bavarian POS will be unreliable and will be in the shop most of the time (especially after warranty period), removing any benefits of saving time going from 0-60
Nobody cares
