I have heard from multiple people that the most recent layoffs were almost exclusively non-DEI candidates and vast majority white males. I don't have any way of verifying this since no one was told who was leaving. Just wondering if anyone has other info to that end. I am sure the unfortunate people affected (and their Lawyers) might be interested. I don't want to believe this is how the decisions were made but in at least 1 case I am aware of it seems that DEI status saved an under performer.

white. laid off a few months ago. knew it was coming, made no effort to leave thanks to value of package and my years of service. landed a job w/ cash comp significantly above total value of mothers comp almost instantly. like winning the lotto. exactly how i pictured it. thanks john and co.
That’s bullsh-t. NS isn’t born yesterday. They are very well aware how expensive class action lawsuits could be. Hence, when prepping any significant cut every legal aspect one can think of is considered, layoff lists are triple checked to make sure they are always a mix, etc. They sc--w up from time to time, but almost never regarding age, gender or race discrimination. Not because they are human rights defenders, but to save a buck.
The good news is that JS is on our side. Rumor goes that WIT is dead. S-xist SR, diversity hire CISO, DH and thier cronies can cry victim somewhere else.
It is curious that DEI is openly considered in hiring, promotions and other beneficial programs (remember the women and POC only mentorship program circa 2019?), yet everyone gets defensive when an honest question about DEI considerations in layoffs.
I wonder why that is?
It is 100% true. Ask any hiring manager about the DEI requirement. #Fact
This is false.
White males have been targets at this company since the woke movement began when LearnVest moved in.
Lots of Indian folks on my team, including FTEs.
This is not accurate at all. Not sure where you heard that but it is wrong.
Reverse racism and gender discrimination are rampant here. The unwritten DEI requirements for interviews are illegal. Required participation in DEI events such as ERG's, WIT conferences, and other DEI propaganda are illegal. Foreign born leaders were informed of the laws of this country and that is why WIT was not shoved down our throats this year.
i heard that too. especially if they reguarly wore jorts, socks with sandals, and one forearm is bigger than the other. maybe david gruber will pick up the case
one only needs to look to the mandatory DEI goal all people leaders must have (again) for the reason for this question. having said that, the last two i am aware of in my area were both non white.
Are those white folks in the room with us right now?
I won’t be surprised given all the rhetoric around DEI. Too many Pride ERG members blatantly wasting their time in supporting non-business activities during working hours. Additionally these are the same people who posts entitled questions that have no relevance to company’s strategy.
Irony is that the company seem to care too much about these very people.
I agree injecting DEI into everything is unhealthy. I am relieved to hear this was not the case.
This is not the case. Turning your narrative upside down, it might be only the white people were announced and the non-white people were let go without acknowledgment. More likely, DEI alignment plays no part in who is being let go or who is announced in the emails. The fixation on this is unhealthy.
