For those of you who have not been with Walgreens for a very long time, managers used to be able to see their P&L statements every month to see how they were doing. Once Pessina and the Boots cronies came on board all of that went away. Why because Pessina most likely did not want people to see in the company to see what they were doing. First you had the multiplier that was added as a factor to your bonus then shortly after the P&L was taken away the first bonus got cut in half then the next year no bonus. So, let me say this about Walgreens P&L statements and what got said on a conference call back at the time by Richard Ashworth during the quarantine. Ashworth was questioned about manager bonuses for Fiscal 2020. His answer was that the bonus was still at 100% for the year and that was all that he would state as an answer. On the P&L statement, there is a column that said bonuses that money was paid into an account every month by each store and this was how they accounted for the manger bonuses for the store and the pharmacy. That money is always pulled out regardless but what is happening to that money if only half is getting paid out or no bonus is paid out at all. Where is that money going? Most likely last year that money got used to buyback shares to keep stockholders happy. Ashworth left shortly after that call why because most likely he got tired of getting screwed out of his bonus and he did not like the direction the company was going in. Covid is a perfect excuse to screw managers out of bonuses again but what is happening with that money that is being accounted for in bonuses where is it going?

I know rphs that received a review of 4 or higher out of 5 received a $10,000 stock bonus. Anyone know if this is every year or just this year?

Yep money still taken out of every store for bonuses each month.... filters up to the top to live their pockets, not for store or dm level bonuses any more.

Managers only recently started getting screwed out of bonuses.
Those lower on the pole...the cashiers and such have ALWAYS been screwed out of bonuses.

I was with Walgreens for 13 years. Started off as a pt cashier got to sm. Worked every position possible. Only reason I went up cause I had highly engaged sm who had highly engaged dm and higher. Why? Because they took care of each other! All was good nice Pat nice hours nice bonus nice everything really easy money! It use to be a battle to get a store and I mean a battle! Now? Pfff they can even fill vacant stores. All those old timers that brought me up are all gone. Left before their time but they saw the writing on the wall. Once I was a sm it went down and down till eventually $0! So Much stress so much bull so much workload so much corporate. No help no support stupid frontier. Work is only increases atleast it feels that way. So I left. I felt so dumb for wasting so much time. Always heard all my peers complain about everything but never do anything about it. I left I’m glad. I went complete opposite direction got into construction side. After 3 years became a foreman have my company truck make $40k more than at wags as a sm with much less stress. And can just tell people how to do there job and fire if they s— no more corporate bull. I would advice many to just leave and try something anything it is so much nicer and it is Greener. Even if it’s with a little less Pay the weight off your shoulders is unbelievable. I’ve never looked back. Although I liek to check in and see how they are struggling.

Store I work at sells all covid junk because the people are stupid and believe what gov says about it. The virus is like the flu/cold. Yes, people die from flu/colds also. Big businesses have used this to change how stores are run. Most are pushing for online ordering and curbside pick up. What they don't realize is how many people impulse buy. Pay increases have been a joke. Managers lost out on bonuses because they didn't make the required amount of 90 day prescripts. Corp knew requiring this would cost most mangers their bonuses. New uniforms are c-ap and won't last. Walgreens is going down fast and cares nothing for employees..

If 70% of our stores were losing money the stock price would be rock bottom like Rite Aid was before we bought them. The main money drag on this company is in Europe the US side is the cash cow for Pessina. You know nothing about what stores make because the P&Ls are hidden from stores now and you obviously just wanted to throw out the Covid products b—s—. We know they don’t sell because the prices are too high and we have id–t buyers who bought c-ap that isn’t going to sell.

It doesn't really matter where it goes, as a company about 70% of our stores lose money and to make it worse, the stores that made money all seem to be down in sales or not up as much especially during the various holiday seasons at least in my district.

Everything this company does is about saving money, not about making money, its like we're hoping to survive and outlast the competition by playing it safe and hoping for the best.

Luckily we have a sh–load of non-basic covid related sh– at prices no one wants to save the day

Another stupid move is to extend hours for December. They really do not care about us. Sales decline fewer customers in the store bec of covid so why there is a need to extend?

Pessina and his higher ups needs bonus for themselves only. People in the store working hard and only thing they can support is cut hours and expect us to work like cows and PUSH METRICS HIGHER.
THIS IS ENGAGEMENT. With their stupid frontier. Why spend and waste time with frontier. All we need is hours to run store
