Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Offer or no offer

Is it me or did they delete all the evidence that they once said perimeter peeps would be getting an offer from the buyer...

Now it's just an automatic transfer...

What concerns me more is they appear to just change anything they want without admitting they changed it...

Was it the poor video lighting or did leadership looked worn out?

They also said a few weeks ago that the update page would be updated shortly but it's still not...

Not having RSUs awarded after the usual award date is demotivating. It's a demotion no matter how you look at it, especially without a 'buyer' confirmed compensation package replacement at no fault of the perimeters.

You need 30% of employees to petition for a union before it can even be voted on and then more than 50% to vote yes. With everyone spread all over the country. Then there's the classifications, why do you think so many people are "managers" and "accountants". And then as soon as mgmt finds out, which they surely will, lol, smh. Good luck.

The "threat" of a union is ever present and always has been. It's not a new idea or something that will make them jump.

It’s funny that you p-o-p-o the union talk when all you do is complain on here about no one listening to the employees. Sometimes just the threat of it occurring is enough to make leadership stand up and take notice. They don’t scour this page for your opinions because they basically see it as a handful of people complaining and then responding to themselves on here.

@p3 Of course you aren’t lucky. Not lucky enough to have left the company already, and still gloating about your #metoo skills.

Lots of expectations on peeps in the Perimeter to help with the divestiture because they are SMEs but Phil from Ziprecruiter says many will be gone before close and the poor souls left will be SOL.

"Lucky to have a paycheck" is just BS.. If you feel "lucky" to have a paycheck or a job you are a loser. How about this you work, create, and demand your value from the world independent of Crown. Crown is lucky to have workers like me

@n6 RSU is a reward for work completed. An expectation you will continue to work that good or better the following year(s)... While else does the annual amount vary based on your performance. If your performance was poor, you probably get less..and you were rewarded more for the work that you provided if you were a top performer.

Everyone be happy you still have a paycheck. Be happy you still have a job if you still want to work.

They aren't perfect in getting this done...but whatever...some folks make out more, while others with longer tenure will appear to make less from the retention 'bonus'....

I'm happy someone wants to buy the perimeters and continue the work we do. Crown is making the wrong choice of selling...but that's their boards decision.

May the 3 entities post sale do well and prosper...

FYI - RSUs are retention tools, not a reward for the work completed, that is the AI. RSUs were rewarded to keep you with the company, thus the vesting schedule.

A year after the close those remaining with either new company will be subject to the new companies compensation programs. If you like it, stay. If you don’t, there are several job search websites and LinkedIn suggestions on how to optimize your resume.

Management was previously using the word offer, but they also said they would not be coming out until right before the close. In reality, those in the perimeter are being transferred to their respective new companies and will more than likely receive paperwork stating that you are an employee of either company. It will not be an offer open for negotiation.

I'm a construction manager on small cell and our team hasn't been told which company we are going to. I also thought we are going to get an offer but last townhall meeting said we will just be moved to the next spot.

I can guess what a perimeter employee is but who made the list? Is there a list?

Have all of the “perimeter” employees been notified or is it going to be a surprise to some?

A walk out by all perimeter employees is probably just what they would hope for. No severance and no unemployment. Where is your head?

100%. Zayo would be happy to send a few people over as contractors to fill in holes. No point in rocking the boat and making a negative name for yourself. If you can find something elsewhere do it, other wise don't get su-ked into the Crown drama. Just do what you can until you find something else. Most of all don't count on some sweet severence cause it ain't coming.

CC only needs to make reasonable expected effort to keep it staffed. That is very very broad. They of course will but no court would hold them liable for th economy or organized employee shenanigans. Don't kid yourself thinking they have to find a way to keep you. They dont. We have little or few chips on the table. And I'm sure they're working hand in hand with the buyer in transition so taking any kind of "stand" is technically against your new employer as well. Think before you act folks. Take the emotion out of it as best you can. Many have a new job and company to look forward to, there are probably about 1500 in shared services who dont. Change is a comin..

What is considered a perimeter employee

Any labor attorneys on here?

If CC unionized, would the buyers have to acknowledge the union? If so, wouldn’t that make an asset sale problematic for them?

When we started talking the U word back when JB was steering this ship into the Houston Iceberg, he did seem to start taking people more seriously….and Elliott jumped in at just the right time.

We promised the buyers a certain level of staffing, so Crown Castle has to do what they can to keep us around or quickly replace us.

That leads me to assume that the buyers would get nervous if it looked like they are losing years of organizational knowledge due to being cheap.

A walkout by all perimeter employees would be fun…just sayin’.
