Boeing is always laying off and always hiring. Eventually word gets out that it’s a very unstable company to work for. And finding and hiring quality people is going to become more difficult.

It’s actually already started. Young people are not interested in majoring in engineering and aerospace because of the instability and poor long-term job outlook.

You can’t constantly be laying off employees are not expect people to notice and try to avoid a similar career path.

The older generation had the misfortune of not being able to change career path but the younger generation can benefit from it.

Nope, Boeing isn't going anywhere...their best days are long behind them...and their trajectory is the same as the poor souls who lost their lives on 737Max.

I expect COMAC C919 with be FAA certified before Boeing is allowed to certify 787s again. C919 now has a US leasing company buying them. And at the current 50% cost of A320 and 737Max, that will eventually decrease to 30%, C919 and COMAC will be very competitive despite all the naysayers...just like Airbus proved...

Hiring low cost, low quality, unexperienced people...and having clueless, bonus greedy, unethical people lead them has made Boeing the great success it is.

On the contrary, they are hiring again since their business seems to be back to normal so layoff is nothing new but part of BA culture.
