I was laid off at the beginning of the month and for 3 weeks I have been scrambling around turning in my resume online and in person and networking like crazy. And yet all avenues seem to have dried up. I’ve also been trying temp. agencies, etc. I’m not worried yet but things seem to be at a standstill for me. Anyone else having the same issues or having any luck?

CF - YOUR TOP TALENT IS LEAVING AND WILL CONTINUE TO LEAVE AT GREATER VELOCITY AS COVID FLATTENS AND JOB MARKET RECOVERS. If they haven’t left yet, they’re thinking about it and planning for it.
Like many who are in personal relationships right now, they’re only with you because of COVID and needing a COVID cuddle friend, but as soon as it’s over, they’re done with you.
The job market is hard now. Hiring is still slow due to COVID. Entering into holiday season is always a slow downturn in hiring for companies, this is normal this time of year, BUT COVID is amplifying this. MANY people are underemployed and settling for jobs they are overqualified for. You may need to move to where there is work. You will need to network. Jobs are not found by applying to a portals anymore as these are black holes; it’s about connections and having doors opened - work your network.
