Don't be confused when the press release comes out saying "Teradata Once Again In The Leaders Quadrant" - this is a JOKE. There is only one clear leader in this report - AWS. Far out ahead of all competitors. Look how far Teradata has dropped. The CMO should be fired is she sends out any proactive communications on this since everyone will see how far behind Teradata really is. Teradata should hide this report from all existing customers. #CloudLast

Embarrassing “leader” press release. If you were a football team and finished 11th in your conference or division would you celebrate publicly?Especially since you were #1 in your prime? Clueless and tone deaf. TDC lacked vision to diversify outside data warehousing. Now they are in survival and spin mode.
“If you ain't first, you're last”
It's an insult to mention any of TINOs, namely ELTs since 2015, in same breath with Schemer, Neches, Hartke, et al. TINOs is synonymous with catastrophe and incompetency, especially with current one.
TDC is irrelevant now and industry knows TINO is making it worse or at best just another cloud service provider and there are so many with more credible products. Since TDC had a brain drain, why trust TINOs? Be honest to yourself. Would you?
Looks like some TINO ELT forgot to share some loot with Gartner to stay relevant long enough to collect bonuses and RSUs.
I’m sure our associates with actual talent are thrilled by the bang-up job the diversity hire in Marketing is doing.
It was delayed this year because a certain cloud only vendor complained again they weren't in the leaders quadrant and threatened to sue gartner.
The Gartner report is too difficult for JW to understand. She can't tell the difference between #1 and #11. This is complete incompetence.
Great companies change with the market. TDC denied cloud. The combination of a lack of a visionary CTO plus CEOs that were former cash register sale guys or grocery guys. Add comp plans where the ELT make millions of RSUs without growing revenue and an apathetic board and you have this depressing mess.
The original founders (Schemer, Neches, Hartke, et al) would be DEEPLY embarrassed by the total ineptitude of the management team (don't call them leaders) and Board. The founders maxed-out their credit cards to start a company that showed 3 years of steady growth before they and the investors would even consider an IPO - compare that to the current quarter-to-quarter debacle. It's appalling how the current bunch (who don't even have a clue about the product or how to market/sell) have completely run a once-great company into the ground. As a former employee (retired), it's profoundly disappointing to observe.
Just in defence of TD here…doesn’t come naturally after my years of experience there, I suspect the market has changed for DW/analytics given the ease of access afforded but AWS. So I might argue the comparison is not so valid?
This marketing move to show how much we suck is even d-mber than the "Stop Buying Analytics" marketing campaign. Our marketing is so bad......
How embarrassing, the upper right corner used to be Teradata’s space.
Yes, compare it with last year Gartner, it is pretty painful to watch the decline of the leader.
D-mbest marketing move ever to show the quadrant. Clearly shows how poorly TDC is positioned in the “everyone get a leader trophy” Gartner MQ. Maybe they think nobody will look at the picture
Hahahaha. Just saw the “Leader” press release. OP was spot on. LMAO
Great Press Release - Teradata #11 in Gartner MQ. LOL. But hey, we were #1 back in the day....
