Layoffs have now started today for Australia.
One of my colleague has just received an invite with HR & their Manager.

Best of luck everyone, look after yourselves and know it's nothing personal. Remember your loyalty to Nielsen isn't worth what it used to be. Nielsen is now a pawn in Elliot + Brookfield's private equity giants quick profit making exercise.

If you're feeling helpless, gain control by looking for another job and plan to do things you love.

Yes, layoffs are happening. Reliable source says as soon as this week.
Some directors aren't even aware.

I'm disgusted at the lack of local communication - zero comms. You'd be mad to not be looking for a new job right now. All Nielsen wants for its one hundredth year is to die, well done David Kenny going private is the beginning of the end.

Btw, expect another round of layoffs (stage 2) after a restructure

also remember nielsen was sold. nielsen culture is over. at least the few parts that were good. you will be worked much harder in the coming months. stop even thinking this is nielsen. it’s a new beast with even less transparency than before.

As an ex Nielsen employee these threads do not surprise me at all, Nielsen are known for treating people like numbers but working them to death for sh-t pay at the same time. I would think you’d be naive to think it won’t occur. You may start hearing more this week. A few things I have heard makes me think yes, if you aren’t a director you probably won’t know until you are walked. One thing I can say though, a lot of people who remain all over the globe will be doing the bare minimum for this company to get by. Why wouldn’t you? The way they treat people is shocking. There will be no loyalty, no one working more hours than they need to, innovation will be gone and a lot of ppl will probably start looking for new jobs. I say just use Nielsen for all you can and build your own experience, I did, and moved on. Make it about you, this company has treated staff like garbage for years. Both retail and media. Welcome to the new world, if you want loyalty run your own business or go to a SME.
