The world is complicated. The crossroads that we are at today was the culmination of a series of mainly global events set into motion quite some time ago, none of which we have any control over.
If we are being honest with ourselves, we know and understand why cuts have to be made at this time. This is, however, just one chapter closing. A new chapter will begin for many of us and we can choose how it is written.
Change is not inherently bad. It is what we make it. There are many of us who weren't in love with our jobs anyway, but the pay/benefits were good and working at Devon satisfied many of the "needs" we all have, but may have left us feeling as though we weren't doing with our life what we feel like we were supposed to be doing.
If you get laid off understand that it really has nothing to do with you personally. A certain amount of cuts have to be made and unfortunately sometimes good people get caught up in the net. But please, take this as an opportunity to start living the life you were destined to lead, whatever that means to you.
Working at Devon was just one season in your life, but there are many more beautiful seasons ahead of you and the chances are that you will see your best season outside the walls of the Devon Tower. Just remember: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zx6j4vI8lE
