One more round upcoming Thursday. It’s the way
No, they aren't done yet. 80%offshore and 20% onshore is the true goal. When you check the meetings of the "Redeployment" effort, they have meetings all the way to mid-December. This movement has been the most mo--nic move I have ever seen in this company. It is already costing the company lawsuits in several estates for deploying AI with minimal testing and strong knowledge of medical claims, benefits adjudication and regulatory compliance.
My layoff was a 15 min team meeting sent 5 mins before by my boss's boss. I've heard that in past occasions when coworkers were let go - the 'immediate 15 min call' very bad news. My boss did a 30 min later in the day to notify my staff and the rest of her team, with several hours notice.
Absolutely sick over all these layoffs. Learned that an outstanding employee with exceptional outcomes and client satisfaction was caught up in this yesterday yet people I know do less than nothing, never try to be helpful or play nice with anyone (including clients) are still here…why? My friend was told she “should apply for other positions” but lets face it, everyone who has reported they did that was not rehired, and if you look up open positions with UGH 60% or more are looking for people offshore. It is obvious Optum has always planned to get rid of the loyal and hard working legacy CHC employees, assume their client and payer information and move on with not a care in the world about the lives and homes they are destroying in their path. It’s all very sad and I wish the government had never approved their buyout of CHC.
Optum Tech is being pushed to have 70% of the workforce offshore by the end of the year, I would expect a lot more.
Ha that powerpoint 5 year plan already out of date. As soon as the presentation is done already changing. In years past they would hit every thursday in november and december to get the final number for the year and q4 on target. Then it would start again. Just ignore it and plan for the worst since the game never stops. Look at other large corporations its the same blueprint in any industry. Labor is the easiest cost to control on the balance sheet. Part of the plan is to have you fire yourself by making life miserable since that has no severance expense
I'm hearing its a 5 year plan to eliminate or move 15k jobs. it will take time
"You know what is going on so why don’t you share? Are you one of those friends of a VP? Getting info from here and then informing others in your department?"
Maybe I am friends of a VP? Look I'm just telling you to expect more firings for at least the next few days. I'm already hearing of even more lay offs into Jan and Feb. And after looking at the emails I've gotten today, this is one of the most tone deaf companies ever, but I still need a job until I can get out, and sorry, NOT sorry, I'm not going to risk it posting "anonymous" stuff on a website that I'm sure is being monitored.

I'm hearing more firings into next week.
I’m pharmacy, but i work as a client consultant (working directly with one of the major BCBS plans). We have a 30 minute meeting with one of the VPs. But it’s only part of our team in the meeting.
the people who have meetings tomorrow… can you give a hint of what dept or job you work?
Same. 30 minute meeting tomorrow "transition update" with Boss's boss and an unusual list of invitees.
I am curious about this, too…
I have an ominous 15 minute team meeting tomorrow. Unsure if it’s letting me go or just letting me know about the others.
