What do I do?

Raghu was trailing indicator. We have been so slow on the innovation front pre Raghu CEO years. We never adjusted to modern software requirements that customers have now been demanding for years. You know, this thing call subscription software. It was a good run, but VMW fell into the hubris 4 wall trap. Could not see past their own 4 walls and paid the price. Best of luck to all.
Dear VMware,
“We too are hearing and seeing all the media and social cycles trending about VMware in the past 14 hours or so.
As you know, our protocol here is to not comment on rumor or speculation. And please do not speculate in internal conversations, on social media, or other public settings.
My advice to all of you is to not make assumptions and stay focused on our tasks at hand in helping our customers, driving our transformation, and supporting each other.”
Sincerely,
Magoo
Magoo is a far cry from anything even close to Pat, Paul or Eschenbach....longevity doesn't make someone great, deserving, much less a leader!
In the early days he was inspiring (from an engineering, product capability perspective) he's anything but inspiring when it comes to future of technology and direction (Paul was the man for that)!
I've been at VMware a long time, and have dealt directly with Raghu many times. He can be nice, but he is not someone I and others have ever had confidence in as a leader. From what I saw directly he never commanded much respect from his peers or direct reports, either.
All the dysfunction and lack of collaboration between the BU's, you can blame on him. All the lack of innovation, and vaporware presentations at VMworld, you can blame on him too.
Those here who see him with rose-colored glasses are probably too new and naive to understand and have never had the chance to work with him directly in a meaningful way.
After everything he has done through his tenure with the company, just remember that VMW wouldn’t have grown to become as successful as it has been.
Hint hint: someone is not going to be on the MainStage in Barcelona.
I fail to understand the animosity towards Raghu.
I fail to understand how you don’t see him as exactly what his nickname implies - Mr. Magoo, a confused man who fails upwards.
With his tens of millions dollars bonus for his excellent stewardship through the acquisition he should be the star subject of an all hands meeting on income inequality.
He is responsible as much as anyone for where we are, a downward spiraling mismanaged company.
Raghu is a figurehead, and people love to blame figureheads. They provide a simple answer to a complex question.
I don't understand animosity either, but most people who blame him do so because they don't know who to blame. And they really want to blame someone.
I fail to understand the animosity towards Raghu.
I would think since he is the CEO of the company, may people feel it is his fault we are in this position and the fact that he is not really CEO material makes people think this made us more of an acquisition target. The way the acquisition has been handled by the C-Suite has also soured a lot of people. Not that he was able to do much differently, but since he is the boss, he's the guy in charge and the one people aim their resentment to.
In reality, our shareholder had this planned out from the beginning and he is the person that we should be aiming our resentment at. Step 1, make us independent company, step 2, sell us. He cashed in twice in doing so. Raghu was chosen as a caretaker CEO who would abide by everything he was told to do. He is just doing his job to the best of his limited capabilities whilst remaining in the confines of what he was allowed to do.
See if Pat at Intel is hiring.
I fail to understand the animosity towards Raghu.
Not notice because I’m oblivious
