Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

layoffs are comin

chances are there are mass lay offs in the future (between nov 2022 and april 2023) so if you get promoted chances are they planned to chop you off anyways. get your resume ready.

Didn't think Boeing was still in business? Doesn't SpaceX own space these days? Doesn't Airbus own commercial airplanes with COMAC challenging them these days? I guess Boeing still owns some politicians and still gets government handouts.

Delivering their 737Max inventory has been artificially propping Boeing up for past year or so and keeping their quarterly reports from being even more dismal than they would be...if that is even possible... Boeing can't deliver newly manufactured airplanes at even close to a positive profit margin given the low price they sold them. So as Boeing gets further into their quickly shrinking airplane backlog, they will be losing even more money with each airplane delivery. Not a good business model if you want to stay in business...

Airbus was very wise to avoid playing this game and they now don't have to given their modern airplane designs, huge market share advantage and huge airplane backlog compared to quickly fading Boeing products.

Might be true if the company started selling off things like the Fab division to an outside vendor. That would be a typical short sided management move.
I was in Seattle yesterday and was surprised how many Max's are still parked. I wonder how many are in Moses Lake?

I dunno if layoffs are coming near term? Layoffs will certainly be coming when Boeing enters bankruptcy next year. In any event, if you work at Boeing, you always keep your resume updated. All the successful Boeing inbred management con artists only stay in a position for at most two years before moving to a new position. This allows them to avoid accountability for their endless management failures while also creating a resume that makes them appear successful for their next promotion. Boeing has been a grossly mismanaged company for many years and is now totally devoid of any substance to successfully compete in the aerospace business.

What makes you think this? I believe they are pretty low on headcount as it stands. Then again I got laid off from Boeing in 2021. Can’t trust the company if you are wanting a long career with the company.
