Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

F1 sponsorships gone

No more Citrix on red bull
No more TIBCO on Mercedes
Another evidence of the death of CSG brands….

Maybe Krispy Kreme can pay CSG some money to put a logo on TK's shirt.

Marketing is not a waste of money IMHO.
It was costing way less money to be associated to admired brands and drivers (and getting more popular in US)
Than the outrageous salary given to fat boy to transform the company into an extorsion business
F1 was cool …

The sponsorships were re--rded to begin with. Anyone thinking otherwise (such as a large organization actually bought from this) is a fool.

It cost more to pull off that car-on-the-roof stunt than our whole executive team collectively deserved to get paid that year.

If we had shifted that spend over to actually hitting EPS targets - by doing simple things like... not spending that money on anything at all - Vista and Elliott wouldn't have been able to afford to buy in.

Sadly, DH and TM got cashed out, and we're stuck here to suffer the consequences of their stupidity.

"Jobs might be saved as a result of eliminating this cash flow waste. "

Uh, no. It just means more profit for Vista. Nobody's job will be saved. TK's mission is to run the company with as few people as possible.

Agreed, Formula One sponsorships are a colossal waste of money, like most advertising.

I think this is the right thing to do (given CSG's need to cut costs). Jobs might be saved as a result of eliminating this cash flow waste.

Better for His Royal An(_)s Lord T(_)rdKrepes and the CSG "masters of the universe" to re-direct that money to themselves so they can get a 2nd yacht or jet. I mean, do you even know how embarrassing it is to be the only white male boomer richer who has just 1? #thegriftisreal

Pretty sure these sponsorships were the first to go. TK thinks normal business marketing is a waste of money.

This was always a total waste of money.

Does anyone think that type of advertising actually works? I think it was more of a way for execs to go to the sporting events they like in exotic locations.
