"I am not sure you live in reality."

What is your point?
I was talking about people being spoiled, not wanting to come into work and tougher times ahead. You are talking about houses?

"You make over six figures"
I am not sure you live in reality.
What is the average cost of a house in the area where they are making six figures?
I am pretty sure it is not $300000.
At least those folks can make something.

Tariffs will raise capital costs a minimum of 25%, since most of GM's parts are sourced from China. This will put a significant hurt on operating expenses. Then cars assembled in Mexico and Canada will also have a 25% tariff placed on them. Add to that, the EV tax credits are toast. PS Your bonus is now predicated on EV sales.

Moving forward, between high interest rates, inflation, tariffs, a loss of corporate welfare and a beaten-down consumer, GM will have to pass all of these costs onto consumers. The existing average cost of a new car in America is about $50k. What will the new cost be? $75k? $65k? Can your average mail carrier or school teacher afford that?

Most of you are spoiled. You make over six figures but complain about having to SHOW UP at work. Your lives are about to change drastically. I hope you are ready for that. Between now and January are the GOOD TIMES. Be kind to each other and try to be thankful for what you have now.

"a Big Blow to the Auto Industry"
What auto industry?
I heard China is now taking market share in the area away from Japan.
Or do you mean the government handout industry.
Tesla is king there.

SLT will just tell MTB to lay more of us off so that they can get bigger bonuses.

Prediction: After January 20, 2025 it will be announced all governnent workers must report to work a full work week in office "or else". Most havent seen the office since before c19.
Corporations will use this as leverage and make similar announcements.
Summary: Early 2025 WFH will RIP.
As the economy grinds down, concepts like flex time will be laughed at by employers.

The SLT would rather lay off more people than absorb a 20% tariff.

Won't likely make a dent, and even if it did....

Remember that every Denali vehicle has $15,000 of upcharge price built into the vehicles price tag, for $1500 in electronics cost.

I don't think the executive director should have mentioned that, but here we are, and there they're exposed. That's an incredible mark up, and these fools have room to absorb some cost.
