This is why you got to look out for #1

It's warm and fuzzy to think about a collective, everyone-wins society where you don't have to worry about meeting your own needs and wants as much, but the reality is you need to look out for #1 first. This is proof positive of this very fact.

I think I’m safe.. in PD

I’ve been reassigned by feeling less and less secure as the restructure rolls out. Apparently the complete redesign will be complete by august? What does that mean for us in PD

Ll6 hit the hardest, why?

There is a widely held opinion that the odd numbered # LL could be eliminated with zero impact to the business LL5, LL3, LL1 There is a widely held opinion that the odd numbered # LL could be eliminated with zero impact to the business LL5, LL3, LL1... — read more

What locations took the biggest hits?

Any way we could find that info out? Can anyone recall what locations reported most layoffs? Chances are that the locations that weren’t hit that much in the last day or two or weren’t hit at all are up next, so that’s where I was going with this... — read more

GSR Notifications Delayed Until 06/15 In My Area

I was told today that LL levels are complete as of today but GSR notifications will go until 06/15. Great, up to another 3 weeks of dealing with this... IT (don’t want to get anymore specific).

Get out of automotive as fast as you can

This is a dying industry in the shape that we know it. Electric cars, autonomous, robot cars, or whatever… have very little in common with the cars that we know today, in the context of production, of course. I would advise all the laid off workers... — read more

Will there be more of the same tomorrow?

Are layoffs gonna continue in the same manner or has yesterday and today been the ;peak days of this wave? Does anyone have any concrete info about tomorrow?

No matter how much we prepare, layoffs always come as a shock

A colleague of mine that basically anticipated his layoff, got cut yesterday. I have known him for years and I have never seen him in so much shock. Even though he practically knew what was coming, he was shocked and surprised in the end. My point is... — read more

Who here want to buy a Ford scooter?

Love those Ford SPIN Scooters? WASTE OF MONEY AND EFFORT. More people let go in pursuit of something no one over 25 years old will buy. Thanks Ford!

Auto industry is about as stable as the oil industry

Had it working for the auto industry. They don't seem to learn from history. Every 8-10 years, they hire too many then have to go through mass layoffs. It's a cycle and been this way for 30 years. Doesn't management see how this is negatively... — read more

People First

How is that "putting people first" thing working out for us? What a joke we have become...

Try to relax and calm your mind

I know it is a stressful time but please try to relax and calm your mind. I am in HR and I interview people all the time. When people come in stressed out and nervous because they are so anxious to get a job it shows and it doesn't show well. The job... — read more

Boycott Ford

In 2018 they made over 2 Billion in profit so why the cuts? Vote Bernie.

Being a kiss-up works at Ford

Not sure about other locations but here we lost two of our best people while several lazy brown nosers are still here because they are good with the management. I don't even think they are nervous about the rest of the week, they probably know... — read more

Purchased Services

Anyone know how many Purchased Services Employees were let go in Bldg 5??

Were some departments told they were done?

I thought I read somebody say they were told by their manager they were done with layoffs in their department. Is this true? Asking because we were told no such thing. If managers do notify people when it's over, then I know we can expect more today... — read more

This is not good

Sorry if this was posted before, I can't see it. Looks like this can get much, much worse before it gets better. IF it ever gets better. Bigger cuts expected: 23,000 more Ford layoffs needed, analysts say... — read more

One reason

Can somebody give me ONE reason why this couldn't have been done in one day? Just one reason. I know 500 people is a lot, but they are not all in the same place nor department, so it can't be logistical or lack-of-time related reason. And if it's not... — read more

Not sure which is worse

I'm not sure which creates more stress -- waiting around to find out if I still have a job on Friday this week (knowing a 5 year plan to cut 10% each year is still coming), or being terminated today knowing I need another job but who hires anyone... — read more

Anyone else freaking out that was laid off?

I haven't been able to sleep the whole night. I'm just overwhelmed right now. I can't stop applying to jobs. I can't stop feeling like I let my family down. Anyone else in the same boat?

Not looking forward to today

After yesterday, today is going to be even worse. Not in numbers of laid off people - I have no idea where we are there. What I mean is that after suffering the stress and anxiety of yesterday, with no time to relax the mental strain is only going to... — read more
