Topics regarding layoffs at Ford

Will we make it through without cuts?

Saw an interview today where Jim Hackett said his goal is to not have cuts at Ford during this pandemic. I think if he pulls it off, he will redeem himself at CEO as other car manufacturers have already had cuts. What do you think?

Is this site for IT complaints only?

Just curious as to why the majority of posts seem to originate from IT folks? Is there a message in this (they are angry? not much work to do?)???

4 29 2020 Global Huddle Just Ended

Just finishing up. Senior Managements all over it. There may be a chance we will all have to take a pay cut. Other than that business as usual.

Earnings Report - Oh Dear!

Yikes. Losses - two billion in Q1, five billion estimate for Q2. Q3 will be just as bad. Q1 is interesting as the shutdown only affected a few weeks in March. What the heck is going on there??? Economy was rolling and you still racked up two... — read more

Today’s earnings call

Did anyone think it seemed like I, I mean the future CEO, was reading my lines on the call today? Asking for a friend!

Ford As A Zombie Company

A zombie company is a company that needs bailouts in order to operate, or an indebted company that is able to repay the interest on its debts but not repay the principal. How does Ford escape this fate?

Why hasn't Ford cut salaries like FCA and GM??

I'd be all for a cut rather than a layoff. What is Jimmy waiting for??? He just wants to bleed faster? He should do a 4 day work week with a 20% pay cut. I can't see everyone going back to PD in a few weeks if Whitmer lifts the ban. They'll have to... — read more

$2 Billion Q1 loss

And the plants were shut down less than two weeks, imagine how much worse Q2 will be. The only expense that is big enough to make a difference is salaries.

Rumors swirling of PD agency lay off but not PS?

Had two people bring up that they heard, but refused to say from where, that agency personnel were going to be cut. PS however, would retain their positions because of some sort of legalities involved? Anyone hear this?
