Does anyone know how bad student enrollments were to warrant the new layoffs? This comes as a shock as some for-profits are stabilizing.

I'm was part of the 300+ layoffs completed yesterday at DeVry. Expect more this quarter. It's slice and dice time for this for-profit to trim its sails to stay afloat in an increasingly competitive higher ed market in the USA.

More layoffs are coming. Hamburger announced $30 million in "cost cutting" in the Q2 analyst call on Feb 7, 2013. Cost cutting means cutting people, just as it did when they announced $50 million in cost cutting last year. Get out while you can.

over 100 were let go in june and july 2012

DeVry received 96 million dollars in 2011 in GI Bill Benefits - University of Texas System received 25 million during the same period...
